“Kindness means sharing love and spreading joy.” -unknown
Patricia “Pat” (Burnison) Henry, 73, of Wolf Point passed away on October 2, 2020 at her home in Wolf Point. Pat was born on August 20, 1947 in Wolf Point, Montana to Lowell and Wylma (Kennedy) Burnison. Pat was raised in Wolf Point and graduated from High School in 1965. While in high school, Pat met William “Bill” Henry, who was in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Glasgow Air Force Base. Bill and Pat were married on October 7, 1965 in Rapid City, South Dakota. After Pat’s marriage to Bill, the couple returned to Montana, living on the Air Force Base in Glasgow until Bill’s enlistment was completed. They then moved to Ellendale, North Dakota where Bill attended college, later returning to Wolf Point where they remained. Pat and Bill had two sons, Billy and Jason.
Pat enjoyed being around others and helping younger people. While Bill worked at the U.S. Post Office in Wolf Point, Pat stayed home raising their two boys. Pat enjoyed helping her Aunt Florence “Babe” Burnison at the Kiddie Korner Kindergarten, a private kindergarten where, during that time, many youngsters started their schooling in Wolf Point. Pat and Bill encouraged their sons to be involved in sports and would follow them through their high school sporting years. Bill became active in the Wolf Point summer youth baseball program. While Bill would be coaching or on the field with the players, Pat would be busy putting rosters together, conducting fund raisers, and running the concession stands. For about 20 years their summer was “Baseball”. Pat eventually joined the staff at the Wolf Point School System working as an aide wherever she was needed and stayed with the school system until Bill became ill in 2000, at which time Pat left her full-time position at the school to care for Bill. She continued to stay by Bill’s side, caring for him until he passed in 2014. Pat returned to work at the Wolf Point School System until her retirement. Pat thoroughly enjoyed the students and fellow staff.
Pat enjoyed her grandkids Billy, Tucker and Slater, who would stay many a summer with her in their younger years. Pat also loved her furry companion “Misty Sue”, walking her faithfully, in all kinds of weather, up and down 6th Avenue N. Pat enjoyed being part of her community, supporting many groups and loved “Wolf Point”. Pat was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Wolf Point Optimist Club and always looked forward to time with her many dear friends for a game of dominoes, Scrabble, or book club. She also served as a trustee on the County Library Board. Pat was an avid reader and would read for hours. She would say “I know there is housework to do, just couldn’t put the book down”.
Pat is survived by her sons Bill (Crista) Henry, of Vancouver, Washington, Jason (Tina) Henry of Great Falls, Montana; brother Robert “Bob” (Valerie) Burnison of Sidney, Montana; grandsons Billy, Tucker, and Slater, and her beloved furry companion, Misty Sue.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Bill Henry and her parents, Lowel and Wylma (Kennedy) Burnison.
Pat will be dearly missed, not only by her family, but also by her many friends who spanned the globe. She had a unique gift of drawing people of diverse backgrounds together, making each one feel special and cared for.
A memorial service will be planned when we are all able to gather and celebrate the wonderful life of our dear Patsy.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Pat Henry to the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes, the Wolf Point Pound Puppies, or to the charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17th, 2021 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, Montana. The inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of Patsy’s passing. We were kindergarten classmates at Mrs Burnison’s little school. As we got older, Patsy’s mom was our Girl Scout leader, I still have a couple of the really fun things we made. My family lived in one of the Burnison’s apartments and we played together alot. A most memorable day – we were playing in her parents’ car, parked at the top of that steep, long driveway. Somehow we got it out of gear; to our dismay the car rolled down that hill and stopped at the curb across the street in front of the Court House. Yikes, we must have been comical, meekly peering out the windows in wide-eyed surprise, possibly a little terror. Thankfully no cars were coming. I remember Patsy as a quiet, soft-spoken and kind person; and suspect she took life in stride graciously and genuinely.

Dearest Pat,
Although we never met in person we shared much around the online scrabble board in the 7 years I knew you. I looked forward to our daily talks and miss you greatly. Our lives, separated by almost 3,000 miles, so different yet somehow the same. I will miss my cards from you and little Misty Sue. I feel like I knew your whole family, your friends, your clubs. I’ll miss hearing about them too. God Bless you and keep you until I travel to the eternal for our meet up.
Love,
Jane

Oh Patsy, everyday I check for a text from you. Whether it be a good morning or a cartoon. Then I remember you are gone. Our texts ranged from our kids, grandchildren and our dogs. We both had Shih Tzus who would “text” each other too. Misty Sue and Izzy Ann. Patsy liked history or romance novels. I was all about Stephen King. Our latest was about mushrooms. Patsy for them…me not so much. In spite of our differences, we remained friends since high school. Walking to school she would eat the toast my Mom made me, while I had a cigarette. I know. We both met our future husbands together…fortunately hers worked out. I will miss my dear friend every day.
