Patrick Raymond Pipe, WaKinyan Ska; age 46, made his journey to join all his relatives and his Lord on April 27, 2020 at Poplar Community Hospital.
Patrick was born July 1, 1973 in Wolf Point, MT to Herman Pipe, Sr and Patricia FourStar Pipe. Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Herman sr., brothers Horace Pipe and brother-in-law Callen Cloke.
As a child Patrick lived in many states growing up while moving with his family, going where his father’s career lead them, he lived in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota and Montana. Patrick’s family settled in Poplar, MT during Patrick’s freshman year of High School where he earned his High School Diploma in 1992.
He attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT, and in 1996 completed his Bachelor Degree in Early Elementary Education. After completing his degree in education, he decided to attend Police Academy in Artesia, New Mexico and did so from January to April, graduating in April 1997. Returning to Poplar he served the Fort Peck Tribal Police Department.
In August of 1998, he met the love of his life, Sudi, after a whirlwind courtship they married on Nov. 2, 1998 at Lindsey memorial Presbyterian Church in Poplar.
Patrick continued his career as an Officer until his retirement in October 2007. During his career he worked in Poplar, Battle Mountain, Owyhee, Nevada, Lower Brule, South Dakota and completed his career as a police Sergeant in Browning, MT.
During this journey they were blessed with their three beautiful children, Titan, Esiya and Rorric.
Patrick loved his family, friends, animals and gardening. He was a proud member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes, and had a deep need to learn as much as possible about his culture and heritage and share it. You were sure to have a lengthy conversation with him if you mentioned Treaty Rights of Politics! He loved visiting, helping anyone in need and although he was a man of large stature, he was a big teddy bear with a heart of gold, who helped others any way he was able.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sudi, his beautiful children, Titan, Esiya, and Rorric. His mother, Patricia, brothers Herman, Jr. (Randie) of Ohio, Jared of Poplar, Gene BadHawk of ND and sister Winona Ritchie, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We apologize if we left anyone out, know that is not intentional as his family is large.
Until we meet again, Fly High and watch over us until we are joined once again.
In an effort to abide with the social distancing requests, we ask that only family and close friends attend the viewing and graveside service. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Sudi, Eisia, Titan, and Roric,
My condolences and respect to you and the kids. You have been Katrina’s other parents, the kids have been her brothers and sister. Eisia and Katrina are practically identical twins. Aunt Patty and Uncle Herman took me as a son when I first moved back here, Indian way, they already were. You two have always supported me in the things I’ve been involved in, how many people can say they walked across the entire Fort Peck Reservation to protect our air, land and water. I prayed today to help him in his journey, Wakinya Ska will is with our relatives on the other side now. Patrick was always outspoken and not afraid to speak his mind. I’m sure he would be glad to know we will be here to help you anyway we can. Thank you for walking beside my older brother all those years, that in itself is amazing. On behalf of the Assiniboine Nation as Chairmanof the Assiniboine Council, our condolences once again.
With love and respect,
Lance Fourstar Family
