Our hearts go out to you both, Betty and Rebecca, at this time. (We have not yet heard the extent of Rebecca’s wounds.) Our thoughts and prayers are so much with you, that God will just lift you into his arms of love and hold you both ever so close. We just cannot even begin to imagine what you must be feeling and the sorrow you must be experiencing! This has been a tough day for our family, as you are such good friends, and we have so many pleasant memories of you all and spending time with you. Ray said the other day, we need to spend more time together and plan to get together more often, but life gets so busy! We always enjoyed the ‘harvest parties’. They were laughing the other day about the first harvest party (I don’t think you were in the picture just yet) when we brought all the ingredients to make pizza for the party and had no bowls, mixing tools, etc. to mix it together. Things were scarce in Ray’s kitchen at that time! All the things he taught the boys, all the Sunday afternoons they spent with Ray in the shop–some of the stories they tell of those times, it’s a wonder any of them came out alive! The boys loved it! They are devastated at the news! Ray was telling Denae at the wedding that he’d found a love letter she had written him as a little girl , and they both had a good laugh remembering those times. Denae and I talked at length to Ray at Holly’s wedding, and I know he was not doing well then. Brandon stopped with the girls on his way back home last Wednesday and visited with him and reminisced some, but he said Ray talked for a while, then said it was just too painful and he couldn’t say any more. Just know if there is anything we can do to lift your load or make it a little lighter, please let us know, and know also Betty that we are praying for your healing along with that of Rebecca. You are so close to our hearts at this time and our prayers are with you! God be with you and give you comfort and peace.

To Raymond’s Family:
I am Ray’s cousin and live in California. I was so sad to hear about his passing. I know he belonged to the Lord. I remember having dinner with Ray, Linda, Marlene, and my Aunt Rosalie and Uncle Henry when my family would travel to Wolf Point years ago. After dinner, Ray and his dad would play guitar, Linda would play piano, and we would all sing hymns. My prayers are with the family, and especially with Betty and Becky at this time. My mother, too, sends her condolences. Love,
Carolyn (Penner) Leffler and Louise Penner

Dear beloved Lord in heaven,
Be with us this day and hold our family strong in faith, courage, and grace. I have such fond memories of family built on worship, fun, and love. We are so blessed to have you in our lives. Raymond will be dearly missed. Rebecca, I’m so grateful for your existence. Please, everyone hold close to God’s grace and love during a time that is full of sadness. I remember when my dad (LaVern D Funk) died and the funeral was in Wolf Point. Raymond was such a blessing for me while I mourned the loss of my father. He drew me closer to God’s love for me, just as I was, without changing anything about me… not one freckle on my face full of tears. Forgiveness, mercy and love to us all.. Betty, please be well. Oh for the touch of a vanishing hand and the sound of a voice that is still. We love you! Bob, Lori, Joshua, Rayver, and Naomi Sherod

My love and prayers to and for all of you. Raymond was a special friend. I remember him and my cousin, David Janzen, playing guitar together when I was young. Lots of good memories. My heart goes out to each of you. This is such a difficult time, but God is ALWAYS faithful and I know He has wiped away Ray’s tears and will do the same for each of you and us over time.
