Roy C. Adams, 53 of Frazer, Montana died Thursday, August 27,2015 in Billings, MT after a short illness.
Roy was born to Tommy Dean Adams and Naomi (Archdale) Adams on June 12, 1962. He was born the 6th in a family of 12 children. Although he wasn’t the oldest boy, he was the biggest. He was cherished by his Grandmothers, Lucille Flynn and Rose Looking. Roy was a born leader, tried anything once and had many stories to tell.
Roy attended Wolf Point and Frazer schools. At an early age, he began work as a laborer for all the local ranches especially for his Uncle Lionel Flynn. He loved every aspect of farming and ranching. He continued this and was employed at the Tribal Ranch as a laborer for many years. He absolutely loved the outdoors. He had deep respect for elders. He would often times make sure they had wood. He helped all.
Roy was an awesome brother, uncle and friend. He had a lot of compassion for people and children. He had a very considerate and gentle soul. Roy loved to hang out on the river bottom of Oswego, get together, tell stories, joke, laugh, and have a good time. He loved his wife Lynette Brown and their dog “Tiny”. Roy’s highlight was to go wooding, loved music, lottery tickets and his family. He has many cousins he was with every day. Roy has so many extended brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and best friends. Roy had three children Quinton, Sunshine and Chelsie Lindsay and several grandchildren. We will miss terribly.
Roy is survived by his wife Lynette, his children and grandchildren. He thought of Mary Jackson Hayes of a second mom and the Jackson family as his own. He is survived by his brothers; Rodney (Iris), Kevin, Darin (Erin), Jeff, Mike (Randi), his sisters; Karen McLaughlin, Monica Buckles, Lynette, Thayle (Weegee), Nadine, Andrea and Michelle Adams. Also, surviving are several nieces, nephews and grandchildren too numerous to mention.
A traditional Assiniboine four day feast was held on Sunday, August 29. A celebration of life will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 2 at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. His funeral will be held at the Frazer High School on Thursday, September 3, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
