Such a great guy. He will be missed by all who knew him.

My dear Pat, my longest held best friend since 1950, feeling sad for you but happy for Vern!
Remembering our good times at LBA and Vern and you there. The time you came to visit us up north and it was the day JFK was killed. So long ago it seems. The times my kids and I visited you guys in W.P. We always all picked up where we left off in talking of the good old times.
Then the time I saw you in Az. Always wished you would come out more often. Thinking of the years Vern had after he had his first attack and thankful you have had him many years after that. God has been good. Praying for you and family in your loss now. May God keep blessing you as you reminisce and miss Vern.
Love to you all
Wilma

Hi Pat and Family: I don’t think I ever met you, but I knew Vern for a short time in the late 70’s and early 80’s. At the time he was working for the county as the Civil Defense Director, and maybe later as the Disaster and Emergency Services Director (Same job just a different title). This may have been a part time job for Vern. That was my same position in Yellowstone County (Billings). I retired 10 years ago.Vern was a guy I, and many others I’m sure, took an immediate liking too. Our only contact was at meetings and conferences and maybe a trip or two for training while we were both in our similar jobs. It seemed that Vern and I gravitated toward each other at these functions because he was very kind and just a good guy to be around. I thoroughly enjoyed our short friendship. I regret now that I never went to Wolf Point to renew our acquaintance over the many years. I lost all track of Vern until today when I saw the small obituary in the Billings Gazette. I’m so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
